What to look for in a golf rangefinder

Before buying a rangefinder, it's important to know what to look for. This will vary based on your needs and personal circumstances. Here's what to look out for when buying any laser rangefinder in 2021.

accuracy
Of course, your rangefinder must be accurate. Telling you the exact yardage of the target is why we buy the target in the first place. Fortunately, most modern rangefinders are very accurate.

Ease of use
A good laser rangefinder will be easy to use. If you take too long to figure out yardage, you'll not only waste time on the field, you'll lose focus.

Scope
In fact, you don't need a huge range to plan a shot on the field. While many brands claim accuracy up to 1000+ yards, it's of little use.
What's more important is the magnification provided by the model. Seeing your goals clearly will help you make decisions on the golf course.
A good magnification is between 5x-7x.

As mentioned before, magnification is more important than range. Higher magnification makes distant targets easier to see. The best golf rangefinders combine magnification with anti-shake technology.

Battery Life
Nobody likes having more gadgets that we need to focus on. Fortunately, golf rangefinders typically have battery life between 6-12 months. So nothing to worry about. Rangefinders with GPS are the exception to this rule.

price
This is something you have to decide for yourself. The price range is wide. None of the rangefinders we reviewed did a lousy job of spotting yardage, but the premium models will give you features that can give you a competitive edge on the court. We've included budget options in our review of the best golf rangefinders.

feature
Most golf rangefinders have a similar function. What to watch out for here:
Slope Account
water proof
Display technology
